Explore pristine lakes, mountain passes, and vibrant local markets before continuing to Dirang’s hot springs and orchards, and Bhalukpong’s scenic Jia Bharali river near Nameri National Park. The adventure then unfolds in Shillong, the “Scotland of the East,” with excursions to the misty waterfalls and limestone caves of Cherrapunjee, the cleanest village of Asia – Mawlynnong, and the crystal-clear waters of Dawki’s Umngot River. Concluding with Shillong’s highlights like Lady Hydari Park and Cathedral of Mary, the trip ends in Guwahati with a divine visit to the sacred Kamakhya Temple, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Northeast India’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Arrive at Guwahati LGBI Airport / Railway Station and get transferred to Bomdila (7,923 ft)(Approx 350 kms / 08 hrs)- the headquarters of West Kameng district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh also known for its Buddhist monasteries. It has a lot of attractions for the visitors for its cool climate. On arrival in Bomdila, check in at your hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast visit to the Bomdila Monastery & stroll around the local market drive to Tawang, en-route stop over at Sella Pass (13,700 ft) to enjoy the area. Arrive Tawang and transfer to your hotel. If time permits visit the local market area. Overnight in Tawang.
After breakfast visit of 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet longand 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed. Later visit Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Rest of the day free to stroll round the streets of the town. Overnight in Tawang.
Today enjoy local sightseeing in Tawang. Visit Maduri lake,China Border, & The Tawang Gompa is definitely the high point of the town, with a commanding view of the splendid valleys beyond. Also visit the War memorial. Evening free for shopping and leisure. Overnight in Tawang
After breakfast drive to Dirang en route visit war cemetery. On arrival check in at your hotel. Afternoon visit the regional apple Nursery, kiwi farm, dzong (fort), hot water spring. Overnight at Dirang.
After breakfast drive straight to to Bhalukpong (250kms/6 hrs drive approx). Bhalukpong is the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh is a place of enthralling scenic beauty. The sparkling river Jia Bharali which passes through Bhalukpong is an adventure lover's paradise. By the side of the river is the Nameri National Park which falls under Project Tiger. Overnight at bhalukpong.
After breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Shillong. On arrival check in to your hotel and overnight stay at Shillong.
After an early breakfast proceed to Cherrapunjee (56 km), the wettest place on earth. Enjoy a pleasant drive to see the roaring waterfalls leaping into deep gorges, including the famed Nohsngithiang falls. The lovely town is also famous for its limestone caves. Watch the Dein-Thlen Falls, Noh-Khalikai Falls, Noh-Sngithiang Falls and also drive to the Mawsmai Cave, Thangkharang Park. Return to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
Early morning you may drive to Mawlynnong (90 kms from Shillong), the cleanest village in Asia. Visit the Tree House, Living Root Bridge, Sky View Point, Balancing rock. Also Visit Dawki. It primarily owes its popularity to the breathtaking Umngot River, often called the Dawki River. Known for its crystal-clear waters that mirror the azure sky above, this river is a sight to behold.Coupled with pleasant weather conditions throughout the year, Dawki provides an ideal setting for outdoor activities such as boating, trekking, and camping. Thus, not just the natural beauty but also these unique experiences make Dawki a must-visit destination. In the evening return to Shillong. Overnight at Shillong.
After Breakfast check out of the hotel and visit the local sightseeing places covering Lady Hydi Park, Ward`s Lake,Shillong Peak, Cathedral of Mary and Polo ground and then transfer to Guwahati.
After breakfast check out from the hotel and Visit Kamakhya Temple and then get transfered to Guwahati airport/Rly station.
